hard shoulder driving
What is the point of having a hard shoulder if we're going to be allowed to bloody drive in them at certain times?
My thoughts on this issue are that this is a ridiculus idea. It's open to abuse as people will use the hard shoulder to bypass traffic out of the alloted times, which would be illegal. Emergency Services wouldn't be be able to quickly get to accidents. People who break down could be stranded in the middle of a motorway with nowhere to go, causing even more problems with traffic behind them, and how does a breakdown service or recovery vehicle suppose to attend to the broken car if traffic is passing on all sides, this causes danger to the recovery personnel and the occupents(s) of the broken vehicle. Also this just means that more cars can use the same overloaded roads which will just increase the problem of traffic filled motorways and not alleviate it.
Stupid idea.
