I don't have a TV Licence - and neither should over 75s.

The BBC have come out saying that they are changing the rules are to start charging over 75 year olds for a TV Licence. This is absolutely disgusting behaviour.I refuse to pay for the BBC. The stuff is crap that they pump out these days and it's Left-Wing views which is brainwashing half of the population. Thanks to someone called Tommy I cancelled my TV licence earlier this year. He actually made me realise that I didn't actually watch much, if any, Live television. I didn't know that you didn't actually need a TV licence if you didn't watch television. I thought you needed a licence if you have a device that can receive a television signal; but it's only if you ever watch Live television on any channel whatsoever. You can still watch catch-up TV as long as it's not BBC programmes (i.e. BBC iPlayer). This isn't difficult for me as there is nothing on the BBC that I watch.

It was a bit weird at first when someone asks if you watched something on TV last night. But it gets easier.

I don't even have my television set plugged into an aerial. I primarily watch YouTube and maybe My5. I have Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and NowTV too. So, I've no need for Live Television. If you have Sky, Virgin or another service that provides Live television you legally are supposed to have TV Licence.https://www.tvlicensing.co.uk/check-if-you-need-one/topics/telling-us-you-dont-need-a-tv-licenceIt looks, to me, that the BBC is losing money due to people like me not paying. They have to fund their shortfall somehow. It's disgusting that they have decided to charge over 75s for TV licences. One UKIP's policies is to change the way we pay for the BBC. I think this is a great idea and people should only have to pay if they want to.

21. TaxationUKIP will legislate to change the BBC TV licence from a tax to a voluntary subscription. The licence fee currently costs the holders £3.7 billion per annum. The licence fee is an outdated, regressive tax, which unjustly criminalises those who don’t wish to watch the BBC, particularly the poor. The BBC World Service could be retained under Government control.
