Bottom Live

I used to love Bottom - the TV show on the BBC - and back in the 90s when I saw Bottom Live on VHS I absolutely loved the Live show. I have watched it so many times that I can recite the entire script whilst watching it 🤣

Rik (RIP) and Ade are genuine geniuses. Their stage shows were legendary. I even went to see the latter three Live shows.

I remember the first time I saw Bottom Live. It was brilliant and much funnier than the TV show.

I watched Bottom Live over and over again, and I started to memorize the lines. I would even act out the scenes with my friends including the scripted bloopers. We would spend hours laughing and making each other laugh.

Bottom Live is a classic comedy show, and I'm so glad that I got to experience it. It's one of those shows that you can always watch and laugh at, no matter how many times you've seen it.

Rik Mayall and Adrian Edmondson were two of the funniest people to ever live, and they created something truly special with Bottom. I'm so grateful that they shared their talent with the world.

If you've never seen Bottom Live I’ve got YouTube videos below.

It is anarchic, absurd, and often very, very funny.

It was recorded in 2003 at the Cliffs Pavilion Theatre in Southend-on-Sea and features Rik Mayall and Adrian Edmondson as Richie Richard and Eddie Hitler. The show follows Richie and Eddie as they try to cope with the fact that they are now middle-aged, and their attempts to stay young and relevant. It is anarchic, absurd, and often very, very funny.

The show was the fifth and final live stage show based on the series. It was also the last time that Mayall and Edmondson performed together on stage. Mayall died in 2014, and Edmondson has said that he will not perform Bottom without him.

Bottom Live 5 is a fitting end to a classic comedy series. It is anarchic, absurd, and often very, very funny. It is a show that is sure to make you laugh, and it is a show that you will not soon forget.
